Batumi trips from Amman

Batumi is Georgia's summer capital on the Black Sea — a palm-lined boulevard running for kilometres, modern towers beside a restored old town, and green subtropical hills that roll down to the pebble beaches. Evenings belong to the seafront: the moving Ali & Nino sculpture, the fountains and cafés open late. Beyond the city are botanical gardens, waterfalls and the mountain villages of Adjara, all an easy drive away. Spend eight days here, or pair a few Batumi nights with Tbilisi and the Caucasus.

Highlights

What you'll see

Batumi Boulevard

Kilometres of seafront promenade with gardens, cycle lanes, cafés and a Ferris wheel — best at sunset.

Ali & Nino and the Alphabet Tower

The steel lovers glide together and apart every evening beside the tower that celebrates the Georgian alphabet.

Batumi Botanical Garden

A vast hillside garden above the sea, with plants from around the world and sweeping coastal views.

Makhuntseti Waterfall & Queen Tamar Bridge

A short drive into Adjara's hills: a tall waterfall and an arched medieval stone bridge over the river.

Argo cable car

Glide from the city up into the hills for a panorama of the boulevard, the port and the sea.

Gonio Fortress & Kvariati

Roman-era fortress walls south of the city, then clear water and a quieter beach at Kvariati.

When to Go

Seasonal guide

Batumi is a summer destination first, with a humid subtropical climate and frequent rain. June: warm days and quieter beaches before the peak. July – August: the warmest sea and the busiest boulevard, with peak demand from Jordanian and Gulf families — book early. September: the sea is still warm and the crowds thin out — our favourite. October – May: cooler and rainier; good for a city break and the Botanical Garden rather than beach days.
